At present 40% of disability worldwide is due to depression and anxiety.  A recent Psychiatric  Survey indicated that there are some 6 million people in the UK (approximately 3 million with depression as their primary problem and 3 million with an anxiety disorder). This is made up of Social Anxiety, Panic, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) , Phobias, GAD ( generalised Anxiety Disorder) & Health Anxiety.

Research has shown that CBT is one of the most effective treatments for the management of anxiety. The treatment of anxiety difficulties using CBT involves learning how to change your thoughts (also called cognitions) and your actions (or behaviours), which is why it is called cognitive-behavioural therapy.
